Barbecue Tips Reprise

My good readers, It's been a while since any of us have posted here.  It's still bbq season, so here is a thing that has worked for me in several ways:  It allows me to dispose of grease in a manner that won't clog my drains, and it recycles it by turning it into a fuel that helps ignite barbecue charcoal.  Whenever you fry bacon, sausage or chicken, you will usually end up with grease and oil in your frying pan from the meat.  If you're like me, you might use a tin can such as a can that had spaghetti sauce in it to store the grease to dispose of it later.  Well, when you know you're going to be firing up your charcoal only barbecue grille, you can prepare yourself ahead of time to dispose of your excess grease and get the coals hot.  For the few days before you do the barbecue, if you cook either sausage or bacon for part of your breakfast, pour the grease from your frying pan into a tin can, and save it in a safe place that won't catch on fire or attract pests.  On the day you barbecue, when you place your unlit coals into the barbecue grille, pour your meat grease onto the unlit coals, and let the grease soak into the charcoal.  Have some scraps, such as paper, lined up in the pile of coals, ready to be lit.  Soak some lighter fluid into the coals if you think you might need to, and wait for about 10 minutes to light the coals.  Light your coals with a match or a butane fire starter made for lighting barbecues.

Enjoy barbecuing whatever meat fills your belly!  And as I said before, use some common sense when firing up that charcoal!  Don't turn yourself into a char broiled human being.

Shasta Hides Artificial Sweeteners In Its Regular Sodas

http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread731837/pg1

Recently, I was shopping for soda, and noticed Shasta has been secretly using Sucralose aka Splenda in its regular sodas.  My readers, that is deceptive!  Using an artificial sweetener without boldly showing it on the label is deceptive.  SHAME ON YOU, SHASTA SODA!

What?? No Reddi Wip??? What Happened?

http://www.omaha.com/money/can-t-find-reddi-wip-blame-it-on-a-nitrous/article_90271618-c17a-11e6-9bd7-ef678e107d62.html The grinch struck Reddi-Wip's sales down this season. We have a shortage of nitrous oxide because there was a deadly explosion a few months back at Airgas, the company that supplies nitrous oxide to the contracting companies that make Reddi-Wip and other store brand whipping creams in a can.  Airgas also supplies nitrous oxide to medical supply companies, and has prioritized supplying nitrous oxide to medical companies.  We know Hillary could use some laughing gas after getting a political beating from We The People.  But we need to recruit some heros to stop the grinch who struck Reddi-Wip!

Kicking In Your Mouth Japanese Style Rice Curry

Ingredients: 1 to 4 cups calrose rice (to feed 1 to 4 people), 1 tablespoon curry powder, 1 lb diced chicken, pork, beef, lamb or 1 lb peeled raw shrimp, 3 medium to large potatos - diced, 1 lb carrots chopped, 3 onions chopped, 3 stocks celery cut into pieces, 1 tablespoon vegetable oil. Salt & sugar to season, corn starch to thicken, 4 cups water for curry.

Directions for rice: water ratio to rice is usually 1 cup rice to 2 cups of water. If cooking 3 cups, use approximately 5 cups water. If cooking 4 cups, use 6 cups of water. Pour rice into pot. Rinse rice before cooking, as rice may be coated with powder. Rinse until water is close to clear.

If using rice cooker, for 1 cup of rice, bring water to 2 cup level. When cooking 2 cups, bring water to 4 cup level. If cooking 3 or 4 cups, bring water to 5 or 6 cup level. Turn on rice cooker according to manufacturer directions.

If using stovetop, bring water level between 3/4 to 1 inch above rice level. Boil at medium heat between 15 to 25 minutes. Rice texture will be sticky and slightly moist when water is nearly gone. Rise should be steaming when finished cooking.

Mix ingredients for curry in a separate pot, adding cornstarch, sugar and salt last. Usually 4 tablespoons cornstarch will suffice to thicken the curry mixture while cooking. Add salt to taste. Add approximately 2 tablespoons sugar to balance salt flavoring. Cook time will be between 20 to 35 minutes, depending on type of meat used. Seasoned salt can be used in place of regular salt. This is a gluten free recipe for those with celiac disease. For those with low or no sodium requirements, you can use salt substitutes in place of salt to season it.

Alternate dish: Curry can also be served on pasta or noodles in place of rice, if desired.
